Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cake
- ½ cup shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp soda
- 2 Tbsp cocoa
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 eggs beaten
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup applesauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- nuts (if desired)
Cream shortening, sugar, cocoa, eggs until well blended.
Add applesauce.
Sift dry ingredients & add; mixing until well blended.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13" pan.
Sprinkle with the 2 Tbsp sugar, chocolate chips and nuts.
Bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes.
