Brownies
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter or 1 1/8 cup if using cocoa
- 4 eggs (beat)
- 4 squares chocolate melted & cooled or ¾ cup cocoa
- 2 ½ cups sifted flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup nuts
Cream sugar and butter.
Beat in 4 eggs.
Mix and sift dry ingredients together.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased and floured pan.
Bake at 325° for 30-35 minutes.
DO NOT OVERBAKE Test with fork; if it comes out clean it’s done.
Frost if desired.
Frosting
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp milk
- Pinch salt
- 1 square unsweetened chocolate (melted) or ¼ cup cocoa
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix until smooth.
