Chicken Marengo
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 can Golden Mushroom soup
- 3 lb. chicken parts
- 3 Tbsp shortening
- 2 small onions, cut in fourths
- 1 medium garlic
- minced mushrooms, if desired
In large skillet, brown chicken In hot shortening.
Pour off fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Cover; cook over low heat for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Uncover and cook until sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes longer.
Serve with rice or noodles.
