Jesse Evan’s Smith 90 Minute Bread
- 4 cups warm water
- 8 Tbsp sugar
- 4 yeast cakes/TBLS
- 4 Tbsp melted shortening
- 4 tsp salt
- 7 to 8 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in one cup of the warm water.
Mix in rest of ingredients.
Mix into a soft, but not sticky dough.
Cut into four pieces and let stand for 15 minutes.
Using the handle of a heavy-like mallet instrument pound each piece of dough for one minute.
Form into four loaves and put each loaf into a greased bread pan.
Let stand for 30 minutes.
Bake on 400° for 30 minutes.
